Super Wal Mart Preview Night

On Sunday afternoon Community Scholarships in the amount of $1000 were awarded to Kenneth Foster, Cody Poplin, and Hailey Holcomb.  A Focus Grant  for Wilkes County Schools in the amount of $2500 was split between East Wilkes High School, East Wilkes Middle School, and CB Eller Elementary School.  A focus grant in the amount of $2500 for Elkin City Schools was split between Elkin High School, Elkin Elementary School and Elkin Middle School.    A Community Grant in the amount of $2,500 was awarded to three Yadkin County Schools to split including Jonesville Elementary School, Boonville Elementary School, and Starmount High School.  The Reeves Theater Project received $2,500.  Surry County EMS, Surry County Sheriff's Department, Elkin Police Department, and Elkin Rescue squad each received $1,250.  Jonesville Police Department and Jonesville Fire Department received $1900 to split between the two.   The Elkin Fire Department, Tri County Christian Ministries, Old Hickory Council, Elkin National Guard, Upper Yadkin Valley Habitat for Humanity, and VFW Post of Yadkin County all received $1000 each.
